A case for Business Intelligence in the cloud for ITSM. This month I came across an interesting article from an investment group called Trident Capital. The author of the blog tried to summarize the value of Business Intelligence solutions in the cloud (software as a service). As BI solutions are complex to manage and maintain, the advantages of a hosted BI solution are easy to make: lower cost, fewer skilled personnel required, easier to optimize usage, ability to work together on data regardless of location, geography, or timezone and last but not least, collaboration of data (benchmarking!). I linked these value components to an IT service management situation, and consequently made a case for BI for ITSM in the cloud.
